Rear Trailing Arm Shims
Doing the last of the suspension renovations on my 81. Had the TA'S rebuilt by Van Steele. We have the alignment tools that we use on the race car and will be able to do the rear alignment. My concern is installing the shims in the trailing arm pocket with the rear tires on.
Is there a secret to this because it looks like it may be difficult when the time comes? Any tips?

No secret, it's a tough fit if you're doing it on the floor. About the only solution is to take your measurement's, determine shim selection, jack the car up, remove the tire, install the correct shims, reassemble and recheck. That's why the new racks make this operation so much easier. Raising it in the air allows more room underneath. And even then, I've seen techs take the tires off to install the shims.
