Default Cam Lift

I was wondering if anyone would know what type of lift GM Bowtie heads Casting # 14011034 would handle?

Wondering if they would handle just over 500.

Thanks

The heads can handle lots of lift. It is the valve springs that you have to worry about

Sorry I guess I need to further expand.

Will the stock springs handle 500 lift.

c/n 14011034 is not an OE GM production head.

c/n 14011034 is Bowtie from GMPP.

It probably sold new from GMPP without any springs or valves at all. As said, have the valvetrain checked to see if they'll handle .500"

Those Bowtie heads are intended for certain restricted race classes where a "spec" head is mandatory like nascar LMSC. They're good for what they're intended for ... but in the wider world not so great. Don't spend a great deal on em if for a street car ... $1100 worth of new Brodix IK180 should outperform them on street ... probably a tweaked set of iron vortecs would do as well too.

The only true method is to measure spring bind height and retainer to seal clearance. Retainer design plays a big role in seal to retainer clearance.
