Default Small block questions

I just purchased a 75 with a new small block. Here what the engine is. An 04 gm short block 300/350 4 bolt block. A edlbrock cam with gear drive and erson 1.5 roller rockers. The heads are gm cast with screw in studs and angle plugs (#8991492). ZZ4 intake and holley 650 double pump. It has a richmond super t-10 4 speed and 410 rearend.

Ok the engine has a oil leak at the oil pan. I was going to remove the engine and reseal the pan next week. Im not sure I like the gear drive. So im thinking of removing the gear drive and then started thinking of changing the cam. First I wanted to try and find out what these heads are cause I was also looking and the Edlebrock head/intake/ cam combo.

These are great "Old School" Performance heads. The newer chamber designs are better and some of the newer heads flow better but these are good. Probably flow as good as the performer heads. If your block is a 2004 block a Roller cam might drop right in. That would be a good upgrade. I would get rid of the gear drive too!

3991492....70......350..........LT1,Came l hump,accessory holes,64cc, straight plug
3991492....70-up................over the counter,Camel hump,64cc, straight or angle plug.

Definitely go roller if its a late model Block.

Don't mean to steal the thread but why is the gear drive not better than a chain?

Gear drive works fine. Matter of personal preference, I don't like the noisey ones.

I think the gear drive to to much friction. I may be wrong.

What would be a good cam and intake to use?
