Default New seals installed

Man, this site has some great info. The valve seals in my 77 were shot and I was dreading replacing them. That was before I did a search on here and found a ton of info on the subject, with pictures no less. I decided to tackle the job this weekend. I used the rope method on each cylinder and everything went perfect, except for chasing those little valve keepers around the shop floor a few times. Anyway, three of the old seals were completely disintegrated, and the others were as hard as a brick. I was going through a quart of oil every 300 miles, so hopefully that will improve now. The car had sat unused for 5 years before I bought it. I got everything back together yesterday, adjusted the valves, and she's running great. Not smoking at all now on initial start up. Thanks for all the info.

Good deal and hopes that solves all of the oil consumption problem.

Just another reason this place is well worth the admission price. It has helped many times to tackle jobs that I would never have alone. Glad it worked out for you.

Hey Eddie, noticed in your signature it says cruise in veteran. Would that be Delta River Car show at Sam's Town in Tunica by any chance?
