Default Engine/Tranny

I am planning to put a new small block in my 75 with hp in the range of 375-400. Will the stock transmission and rear end handle this hp and the added torque? I do not have more info on the engine because I am still deciding on which way to go.

What do you have for the stock tranny & rear end now?
Automatic, manual, gears? Ever had a rebuild of the drive train?

Sorry about that. It is the stock auto tranny which I believe is a Turbo Hydra 3-speed and stock rear end with 3.36:1 gears. I recently purchased the car but believe there has not been a rebuild of any of these items.

I've run a 427 big block with more horsepower than that through a Turbo 350 with no problems. As long as the rear end and tranny is in GOOD shape it should handle it. If they are not, the additional horsepower will expose whatever weakness exists. Good luck
