Default Brake Pipe Nuts...what sizes.

Can somebody please confirm sizes of brake nuts used on our Vettes.
I have made up the lines but need to get new nuts before I flare the ends.

I think they are as follows but any confirmation or kick in the right direction appreciated.

3/8" x 24 UNF for 3/16" pipe.
I think there are 6 of these, 2 on the each of the front hard lines and 2 on the rear crossover.

Master cylinder lines,
3/16" pipe, 1/2" x 20 UNF, one on each end.
1/4" pipe, 7/16" x 20 UNF and 9/16" x 18 UNF. One of each.

Main front to rear line,
1/4" Pipe, 9/16" x 18 UNF and 7/16" x 20 UNF, one of each.

Also, are these easily purchased from most auto stores in the States?
Thanks all.

Just checked a few sites and am I right in thinking the 7/16" nuts are actually 7/16" x 24 not 20?

Here is a site that sells the american nuts and you can surf the site and come up with the sizes and threads.

http://store.fedhillusa.com/americannuts.aspx

http://www.fedhillusa.com/?page=tech2

Here is one in your neighborhood

http://www.bsr-aerotek.com/

Here, one can commonly buy the brake line in sections from 6" to 6 feet in length and they come flared with one short and one long nut installed. I just get the short ones that are cheap or the nexr larger size and cut and form to my needs.

I use the 3/8" for fuel line in the same way.

You are correct, 7/16-24 is the common automotive tube nut thread as is 3/8-24, 1/2-20 and 9/16-18.

Thanks noonie, the fedhill site is what I used to guage the sizes.

The UK site you linked does not seem to offer the 9/16 fitting or the 7/16 fitting ( for 1/4 pipe anyway)

These are the ones Im having trouble finding!

Anyone live near to an auto parts store want to pick them up and USPS them to me, I can do Paypal!
