Default Strut Rod Install Question 1980

1980 L48

Installed my strut rods last night with poly bushings- I have a question:

The ends of the strut rods where the bushing slide in have different angles to them relative to the rod.

Can anyone from memory (or if they have a set out) tell me if the end that has the greatest angle is the inboard side (under the diff)?
I forgot to mark mine and I just want to make sure I did not put them in backwards (not sure if that is even possible).

If memory serves, the strut rods are symmetrical and can be installed either way. You might want to make sure yours are not bent.

The 80-82 strut rods have a bend on the ends. Not like the 63-79 rods. When installing the 80-82 rods, they bend should go to the backside of the car. You will probably have to lift the arm to get it in place so don't hook up the spring or shocks yet.

The strut rods are symmetrical left to right side, but not one end to the other (on the same rod). Mine are straight.

Does the strut end with the greatest angle go to the inboard side (adjustable side)?

I've seen this; I have a set of new ones from VBP. One end of each rod, has a slight bend to mate up to the geometry of the diff to TA vertical travel. I have yet to install my new ones. Call VBP and talk to a tech there to clairify.

It doesn't matter. Both ends have a 5 degree angle. Just angle it toward the rear of the car.
