Re: Would you re-use these body mounts? (63Banshee)
63Banshee,
Yea I know,I was being sarcastic in the title. I also had to change out the body supports for they rusted out and replace two of the frame mounts that these sit on due to the holes rusting and alowing the mounts to move.

I used rubber again because of the squeaks. I almost regret putting poly bushings in my a arms. Every speed bump...SQUEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAKKK SQUEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAKKKK
Re: Would you re-use these body mounts? (Nomad78SA)
My vote is for new body mounts. If I am in that deep I always like to replace the part and forego any problems down the the road. That is of course if funds allow. I went with Vette Brakes Poly Body Bushings. I beleive they are supposed to be made with the new material that is self lubricating and does not squeek or at least not as bad. I will be finding out more in the next couple of weeks when I test drive my baby after complete restoration. Best wishes, and let us know what you decide and how it works out for you.
Checked out your pics. Man I wish I could get that much done in a weekend. You need to go to work for dream car garage. Complete cr rebuild in 30 minutes hahahaha. Where are you now with the project?

Darn now you tell me. Glad I have the sidepipes so I wont be able to hear the squeak. Come to think of it I wont be able to hear anything so just Wave hahahahaha.
Re: Would you re-use these body mounts? (ScubaJKD)
With the Vette brakes kit, did you get enough bushings for all eight mounts?
I bought the PST kit and only got enough biscuits for 6. They're checking into it with their supplier now... Also, the PST kit had all the bushings the same even though #2 and #3 are different from #1 and #4.
Did your kit have a different mount for 2&3 versus 1&4?

I am sorry it has been six months since we installed them and I can't remember if the were different sizes or not. I would call Vette Brakes I am sure they can help you out. Take care

huh scuba? :) I didn't get that thing about the weekend....as for your question, I slaked off on the project...I removed the engine and tranny, dissasembled the engine and now reassembling it. Didn't take picture cause I had some cam problems....I'll get new ones next weekend.
At the bottom of your signature you have pictures from weekend 1, 2, and 5. Looking at the progress you made assumming these were projects completed in a weekend I was just very very impressed and giving you some Kudos on all the work you have done. I was relating it to the projects you see on dream car garage tv show where they put an entire car together in a 30 minute show. Keep up the great work and post more pics when you can.
