Copper metal on transmission?
In the process of R & R on my 1970 - 4 speed trans, I noticed a heavy greenish "patina" much like corrosion on copper on the top of the aluminum casing. I also noticed a couple of parts (a plate in the trans and a bolt) that appeared to be bright copper colored. Further, there is what looks like overspray that is a copper color in the trans tunnel under the car.
My question is: Were there any original parts on the trans that could have been copper?
