Ok I am a dummy!!! What would be the diffference between the 68-72 frame a and 68. I looked at old posts and still don't understand. My question is what will I need to do to make another chrome bumper frame work on my 68? Thanks and use small words and spell very slow for me.

This gets way more complicated than you can imagine. A company here in Florida, Sunshine Corvettes, used to rebuild C3 frames. I spent a day looking at probably a hundred frames. No two seemed to be alike.

While all of the frames were very close you couldn't just swap them around. A frame swap means cutting off a few brackets and adding a couple here and there.

I reached the conclusion that is was best to rebuild the frame that came with the car. It also might be the cheapest way.

Then again anything is possible with enough time and money.

68 frames lack the small diagonal kick-up braces that were installed on 69 and later frames (possibly some late 68's had these braces installed.) besides that, a 69-72 frame will be interchangable with your 68.

Thanks for the info I will need to check out those boks.
I thought there was something to do with the front rad support also? The rear brace would be a welcome addition.

interesting for sure. i knew mine was a mix match of cars but now i know it is an early 68 chassis since it does not have the rear kick ups i don't think. I guess I'll have to add something. Then again i might wait till the body is off to do that.
