after reading a jillion posts I have finally started the removal of things that where installed 26 years ago. what a PITA. one can of PB and several thousand cuss words I still only have half of the shims removed and strut rods stuck to the trailing arms. Need to find a seal removal tool so I can hook the shims that still are stuck. they move up and down but are rusted to the inner sleeve. Have a new pack of saw blades ready to go. hopefully I will be able to tap out the remaining bolts. Once I get the trailing arms off its either cutting time and buy a new set of adjustable rods or risk the 2lb sledge. What is the trick to removing the clip on the diff yokes????? My c clip tool keeps popping off. I will be forced to take the diff to the traanny shop so they can use there $100 set of c clips removal tool. need to replace the seals. removing the driveshaft required a 18" extension on a 1/4" drive ratchet. well if I can get this all done I can bead blast everything and paint it before reassembly. Any advice would be great.

Go to pepboys and rent a front end service kit, it should have a long puller like this one here http://www.xm-parts.com/articles/hge...ear_Puller.jpg in it, use it to get the shock mount out instead of the sledge, worked like a charm for me while the sledge did nothing.
You prop the bolt against the threaded part of the shock mount that you usually wail on, and put the two claws around where it exits on the other side and crank away with a wrench to force it out.
I can take pics of how I did it if you want.
Goodluck with everything!
