Power steering control valve problem....
I had tried my hand at rebuilding the first one, resulting in disaster. So I turned it in at a local Vette store for a rebuilt unit. That one turned out to be no good. When I exchanged it, I asked who rebuilds these valves, and the answer was "someplace in Texas". Well, the next one wasn't much better. I took the valve to a Vette shop, and the guy doing the work found a small problem with it, but when I put it back on the 68, it still felt like driving a truck.
Recently I found out VBP sells valves rebuilt in their own shop, so I bought one and installed it last Friday night. This time I got a winner, I couldn't believe the difference! The steering is as smooth as it should be, good road feel, and no more having to force the wheel during a turn. Nor does the valve leak, another issue with these things I keep reading about on the Forum.
So we have another problem solved
I wanted to pass this along in case it might help someone else with the same problemBTW Thanks VBP
