Not much different here except there is a cruise control tranducer in the mix. It goes speedo, through the firewall to the transducer, located under the brake power booster (Left driver side firewallish area), tranducer to the tranny. It is two cables. The backside of the speedo has a sort of clip connection, the rest are threaded connections much like the end of a garden hose for lack of a better analogy. You have to be gumby to get to the speedo connection, the rest are pretty simple to get to.
As for fishing the upper cable through the firewall...I have no idea, if you are doing the entire cable. I would imagine it has to come in from the engine side of the firewall. You can just replace the innards of the cable easily. I did mine when I took out the inner cable and cleaned and lubricated with white lithium grease.
