I just purchased a new front air intake duct to replace the old cracked orginal. On the new duct the wide portion that extends over the radiator has the top section removed, unlike my orginal which is an enclosed duct all the way out. Did they remove the top on the new one to allow more air flow, or do I have the wrong duct? They could not answer this at ecklers. (this is on a 78 L82 dual throat front air intake).
The reproduction ones are designed a bit different. They are not as original. Before I switched to TPI, I ordered a new one to try and fabricate an intake and it was different. I saved the old one in case I ever decide to return to original 79 in the same as the 78 L82
Can you post a pic? Installed a new one as mine was missing. It has a long bottom tab that slides under the radiator upper bracket and extends forward over the rad.
