Hopefully this link works and you can see my 73 Ragtop. I will post more pictures as I get more proficient. It is currently in for a frame on restoration due to an incident with a 17 year old backing up a Bass boat into the hood. Considered a frame off, but this car is a driver and the cost seemed excessive.
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to say the link didn't work when I checked. Hopefully you won't have a problem fixing your baby. A lot of great advice here and great people. Don't forget to participate when you can. Also, hope you get the link figured out so we can see the car.
Keep waving :seeya
Reposted the link for you. Nice looking vette. Too bad about the accident. It looks like you have pretty nice paint on there now. Maybe a whole respray is in order now. Good luck and keep us posted with the progress.
The paint was really nice. The problem is that it was painted about 4 years ago in acrylic enamel. The insurance company would only paint the hood and a blend through the doors. I didn't want a two toned car so I elected a complete strip and paint with clear coat. This way any further incidents (hopefully not) could be fixed up without the matching problem. The other reason, the car had at least 2 coats of paint on it already. I was concerned a third might cause bubbling in the future. Anyway I'm excited about the outcome.
Always nice to have another 73 on the Forum, especially a Canadian. Toronto is still part of Canada, isn't it?
FYI, there's a site on the Forum which specializes in 73 information. http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/vette73/index.htm The yellow beastie shown in the link "Restoration Project" is mine, although the link needs to be updated.
Your roadster looks very close to stock. The Factory Correct Resto Forum is full of guys who are into NCRS. In fact, the FCR was started when the NCRS website closed their forums. Don't let the name scare you off- they're all car guys who know where the gas pedal is. Things sometimes get off topic over there, but it's all in the spirit of fun.
