Default Carburetor help needed

Holley model 4150.

At idle, there is fuel dripping off the secondary venturies. So much fuel that the car floods and will not stay idling. You can actually see 2 to 3 drips per second dripping off each secondary venturi. What is the problem?

Thanks for your help,

Steve

Has anything changed/occurred prior to this condition appearing?

Have you checked the float on the secondary bowl? Not knowing anything else, I would start there. pull the sight plug. If gas pours out, that is your problem. If that is the case, it could be the needle/seat gave out, fuel pressure increased too much, dirt lodged in seat, etc.

Good luck.

good questions/observation and thanks so much for chipping in. The only thing that changed was that I replaced the existing rubber fuel hoses w/ braided lines. Each time I've checked the fuel pressure, it has been a steady 7 lbs.

If you replaced the fuel line, the chances are very high that you have dirt lodged in your needle/seat assembly. The good news is that this is an an easy fix with the holley. You will only need to buy a bowl gasket and this will only take you an hour or two to clean or potentially replace depending upon age.

Good luck.
