Since I have already replaced most of the wiring on the Vette getting behind the dash was not a scary event. I have been behind it before, just not behind the tach and speedo.
There is no reason to get into the details of the mod, the pictures should do the trick. It is hard to believe I replaced all those wires with about 7 wires.

good work on the install
It took about 7 hours start to finish. A day and a half. I have yet to run into anything on the Vette that is too difficult. Just 5 screws hold the tach & speedo pad to the dash. Take apart the steering wheel covers and unplug the tach and speedo cables and put out all the bulb wiring and you are done.
The engineering on the vette is so simple. Hell, every bolt seems to be 3/8, 1/2, 7/16, 5/8...... You can find everything at Lowes or Home Depot??!! Zip, Corvette Central, Ecklers, Summit, Jegs, and Year One have everything else!
