Default Electrical help PPPLLLLLEEAASSSEE!!!!!

Here's the scoop. I turn the ignition and nothing.
12.50 volts at the battery
12.50 volts at the starter
Headlights are the only acc that work.

Pulled the ignition wiring harnass and the only power I can find it .10 volts on two contacts. What can this be?

There is a fusible link wire about 2 -3 inches away from the solenoid on the starter that feeds the current to the car. Sounds like it has melted. Check to see if you have voltage right after it.

Do you have any power in the cockpit at all? The heavy gauge wire that goes from the starter to the alternator powers the inside of the car. As the above post states the fuse link could be gone ( missing) as well as blown as he suggests. But sometimes just a loose or coroded connection at the starter will prevent it from starting. Does anything in the car come on ?

Don't forget to recheck your grounds! The battery grounds to the frame under the drivers seat. Sometimes you need to remove it and clean the rust off of there. Most electrical probles all faulty groud related.
Good Luck

I checked the harness at the firewall and I have power to two of the three wires. I believe the ground is fine. Also, both links look intack, so I will trace from there.

The only place I have power is at the headlights.

Remove the battery cable at the starter and check the wire connector on the wire behind it (on the same post) make sure your getting a connection there. that is the most likly location IMHO. If that connection is loose or dirty you get the symptoms you discribe. Looking at it doesn't help usually needs to be tight and clean.

Do your idiot lights light up? Does your factory alarm work, and if not have you completely disconnected it? I had this problem with my 75 and traced it to a finicky alarm component. I'll email you the location and what I did to solve my problem.

No idiot lights and I got a feeling my alarm decided to wake up and work. I guess I will have to pull out the old factory manual and start the hunt.

Success!!!! It turned out to be a bad connection in the Starter wiring harness. It's amazing that one little plug can kill the whole system. I would recommend checking it from time to time.
