I'm working on my tail lamps and I can't find my meter anywhere. What are the three color wires? I have green, black, and brown. I know black is ground but what are the other two? I think brown is directional, and green = hot. But I may be wrong....

Black is indeed the ground. Brown provides the low filament signal for when the headlights are turned on, the taillights.
The green is the brake, turn signal, and hazard wire. Green for one side, and yellow for the other side. The green / yellow wire energizes the high filament. It's triggered by the brake pedal switch, the turn signal switch, and the hazard circuit switch.
