Default Carb and Ignition

I have decided on the 350ci vortec with 400hp and 425 (http://www.dpmpower.us/smallblock.php). I talked with a couple of places and these folks were very friendly and had not problem with me coming out to watch the dyno.
Looking for suggestions on carb and ignition. DPM has several ignitions on their site. Any recommendations?
As far as carb I am partial to Holley so believe I am going with a 750dp with mech. secondaries. Best place with good prices?
Other options I am missing with either of these choices?

Ignition doesn't have to be expensive, reqular GM HEI will work nicely. You can go Pro Billet if ya want shiney, or DUI for functional and effecient

GM HEI deserves a lot more credit. It's a very well rounded ignition system that'll work great for all kinds of applications.

Do you need tach drive? If so I run this summit HEI one with no complaints...

For a carb I use Holley's as well. If you're using a tight (relatively) convertor or highway gears the DP may be problematic and VS may be better.

Could use a little more information if possible. I have looked at Jegs and there are numerous carbs with various options that I do not understand. Can someone point me to a specific carb or two that would fit my needs?
thanks,
scott

Scott

HEI
Holley 650 DP esp. w/ manual trans. or high stall converter.
Holley 650 vs if economy is a consideration.
