Default to much power stering

In the late 70s I had the same car that I autocrossed raced and the car handled very good. The 71 corvette I have today dosent feel like the front tires are conected to the road. I have new shocks, goodyear TAs , both cars were small block LT1 engines and in stock condition. what it the power steering system could I change to put the road feel back in my car.thanks for any ideas bop.

Some people contacted Vette Brakes Products and had them build them a valve with a heavier internal spring (40#) if I remember correctly. I am not sure if this will correct your complaint or not.

Bob,

Have you balanced the power steering valve? Sometimes when they are out of balance it creates the feeling as if the car has a mind of its own.
