Default Header/Rack Issue???

Is anyone running a Steeroids or VBP rack and pinion setup with side tube headers? I just got off the phone with Stahl headers and was told after we had all layed out for config that the rack and pinion may pose a problem and they were unsure. Is the rack and pinion front or rear driven?

Thanks,
Rob

Just put my steeroids in yesterday with super comp headers, not side exhaust though. No clearance problems at all.

Hmm the rear steer is what concerned them. I need to find someone that running side exhaust with rack.

Wow from the pics above I can see why there is a concern with clearance. It looks real tight in there with that setup. I'm starting to lean towards Hooker Super Comp side headers but I still need to see if someone is running it with Steeroids first.

I have Dynomax headers with Steeroids. There isn't much room to spare anywhere, but I think I would have even less if I still had a steering box in there.

MN80VETTE thanks for the pics to show the clearance.

I know someone on here has to be running Hooker Super Comp side with rack and pinion that can provide a pic.

Do you have a small block or a big block? We have a comprehensive list on our web site of headers that work with Steeroids. For small blocks both Hedman and Hooker side pipes may require a small dimple in 1 tube on the driver's side. For big blocks Hooker and Stahl side pipes fit with no problem.

I think the question to ask Stahl is what is the difference in tube routing between their SB and BB headers. If they are similar then you shouldn't have a problem. As you can see from our list we haven't encountered very many header issues with Corvettes. Only off-beat designs seem to be an issue (a 4-2-1 type header).
From the looks of their photo
the routing looks similar to MN80Vette's Dynomax headers. At least the #1 and 3 tubes look very much alike.
