Default Clock, replace or repair?

The clock in my '79 hasn't worked in years.
I know there are at least three options for me to have a working clock:
1) Replace with original type
2) Replace with a Quartz type
3) Rebuilt current with a kit.

From those of you with experience with these things, what would you recommend?

Thanks!

I replaced my broken original w/ a quartz movement. Should last forever.

If you don't care about not being "NCRS" correct, replace with a quartz clock.

I'm just going to be one more person giving you the same advice. It's really not worth taking the time to rebuild the clock you have in it. Get the quartz clock and you'll be happy for years.

I'm one of those few trying to stay "original", so I sent mine to "Corvette Clocks by Roger" a few months ago. He rebuilt it and repainted the face and tested it for a week or so, all for about $69.00. I was very satisfied with the service and results. So far, I'm glad I did. If it breaks in the next year or two I may get fed up and replace it with a quarts unit. NCRS judges can tell the differance in the way the hands move, but I understand there is now a quarts clock being created that will tic and move identical to a real wind-up mechanical unit, and that would most likely be my choise in the future.
