Serpentine Fan???
You need a reverse rotation fat like Aktbird mentioned. The pump is reverse, so the fan must have backwards blades or it'll be pushing air instead of pulling it.
Also, the fan will be so very close to the core support that the factory shroud will probably not work. It worked for me because I didn't have a shroud.
Then, I started looking for more room. I found that a Jeep Cherokee fan fit the water pump flange, was reverse rotation, had a shorter shaft, and thinner clutch. The overall diameter is a bit smaller too so it fits under the top of the core support...making me THINK it'll fit in a stock shroud.
I ended up removing my mechanical reverse rotation fan for a powerful pair of electric Focus fans, so if you want the Jeep fan I removed PM me and we'll make a deal.

I found a flex fan w/reverse rotation.

I want to use it without the clutch, 1517 will have 1" from each side of the shroud (19") & the distance from the radiator I can play with the correct spacer.
My car: 72 350 vert' with auto A/C PS PW PB.
I want to buy the turn key zz4 GM #12499712 + 200R4.
I have few more questions to clear with ZZ4 installation.
1. I want to know what distributor w/Tach Drive I should order?
2. What FlexPlate I should order to connect it to 200R4 Bowtie trns'?
3. What alternator I have 1 wire or 3 wire and what the difference
between them?
4. What alternator I should order to fit my wiring?
5. What about the engine weight deference that influences the body
height? Can I fix it with the standard suspension?
I already rebuilt it.
Thanks
Avner

If it fits you gan go for it, but I don't like those style fans. I have seen too many of them grenade and throw blades through body panels. Once saw two blades go through a guy's metal Camaro hood. Not pretty.

What cfm I need? I have A/C.
That's hard to say, but you have some very good options. Tom DeWitt sells a fantastic package with dual Spal brand fans that flow very well and work great for a lot of members.
The Ford Taurus and Lincoln Mark VIII share a fan, one slightly smaller than the other, that will work great and fit great. I also found that a Ford Focus set of twin fans cools very nicely.
The Spal fan set is pretty much a bolt in, as it comes with brackets and mounting hardware. The Ford fans take some modifications but will give you 2000 to 4000 CFM depending on which one you go with.
All those options would e good...it just depends on what you want to do.
