Forum Members: I just got a call from the alignment shop. They cut the old stk springs and it didn't work out. One spring is sacked out more than the other.
I wanted to use stk f springs cut 2" and the rear lowered an equal ammount. I don't want to use the #460 or #550 springs because after they are cut, they will be too heavy for the stk rear spring.
I plan to make major upgrades down the road, but not now.
What springs can I use that will not be too heavy after cutting?
They will need to work w/rear 9 leaf. I need some ideas quick, the car is in the shop as I write. What about the Monte Carlo springs, would they be too much spring rate after cutting? TIA
George: Speak to me O' Knower of Vette Stuff. After dropping #90 the front end came up 1/2". I wanted to drop the front 2" and the rear 1.5" to keep it even. That's why I was thinking about taking some of the preload off the front stk spring. I don't bottom out the stockers as it is.
I have the Bilsteins on, what should I do?
