I had a leak in my 1971 LT-1 radiator and am having recorred. The bottom had an L-shaped stopcock with a hex nut on the end for a drain. The radiator shop wants to know if this is original or whether it had a typical radiator draincock that drained straight down. Can Someone let me know what the original had? Thanks
Thanks. Heard from another 1971 LT-1 owner-who also has theL-shaped drain. Must be the original!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any one have a picture of that. I took mine out last week and I ended up just removing hoses to drain. Mine looks like just a bolt head at the bottom, if I drained it like that it would have went all over the frame.
I was going to get mine tested and cleaned before I put it back in and was thinking of changing the plug so I could drain it easier, so if it is not correct I will get the drain changed.
I havent' looked at the numbers but it has the correct tags so I am pretty sure it is the orig rad. I just got my water pump back from Author Gold and it was the correctly dated pump.
