Can anyone tell me if 69' Coupes ever came with retractable lap belts?
All the doc I can find indicates that the 69' lap belts were very long but not retractable-
I would like to get retractable lap belts like in the 70-72 vintage but I don't want to have to do any modifications of the floor pan or anything to get them to fit/work.
Can anyone tell me if the 70-72 type retractable lap belts would be a bolt-in swap on my 69'?
Interesting..
So when did they move to retractable lap belts? 73?
I realize the shoulder belts are retractable but I don't have or need those. The cockpit on these cars is so tight anyway, there is nowhere to move that would require a shoulder belt
FYI The 68 lap belts are retractable. I owned my 68 for about 34years before I found out they were retractable. The retractors did not work when I bought the car in 1972. I only found out they were retractable when I removed then in 2006, and sent them to Snake-Oyl for repair. Their repair quote included retractor repair..I called and said they made a mistake, I dont' have retractors...they said yes you do! The retractors were in the small plastic coverred cylindrical housing at the end of the belts were they bolt to the frame cable. They were rusted and jambed when I bought the car in 72!
