I replaced my clutch with a centerforce II unit(step below dual friction) about 4 years ago, now its time to replace the clutch.
Is it alright to replace only the disk and get the flywheel and pressure plate cleaned up? Do any more adjustments need to be made after the pressure plate is machined?
I suppose I can use just any disk that I can get right? or do I have to use a centerforce?
You could but why. If in there replace it all as an assembly clutch, pressure plate, throw out and possibly the clutch fork. It's a big enough pain to do it. That way you can be sure the next piece is'nt going to fail.
Just my opinion.
If the clutch isn't chattering, the pressure plate and flywheel are probably ok. You can get by with just a disk, and of course a throwout bearing. As long as you don't mind doing the work if something fails later, its a good trade off. I've done disk only changes several times with good results. After all, hobby time work is free, right?
