Ride heights vary from year to year and model to model, so it's best to go by the book. IMHO, Z and D heights are the most reliable of all ride height dimensions. If you have an AIM, you'll find the specs in there.
While I don't have the '71 info, this may serve as an adequate reference should no one chime in with them...

What I'm tryng to determine is not ride height or D or Z but the clearance between the rubber bumpers and the frame when the ride height is set as per the chart you sent. I don't think I've ever seen this dimension published so I'm asking for someone to measure it for me.
