I use it in the first tank of any of my toys when I take them out of storage. In 20+ years I have never had any clogged carbs or fuel injectors.
Just my .02

The "ultimate authorities," Click & Clack on Car Talk (my mechanics program for continuing education) say it won't hurt anything and may help as a last resort. Remember though, these are the same guys who think Mystery Oil ain't bad stuff either.

I've never used it in the first tank of any of my toys when I take them out of storage, or any other time. In 35+ years I have never had any clogged carbs or fuel injectors.

how did you put it in. pour it in the fuel tank? in the throttle body? i have a 91 Z71 that someone told me to try it on.
Through the booster vacuum hose. Haven't done the TB method.
And ref a comment above, it does make a huge smoke show. Pick a day where the wind is blowing away from your house.

Wonder where that guy went that accused me of being from a third world country on the "running on water" thread the other day... never around when you need him.
Wait'll I bring up Essential Lube or automatic trasmission fluid down the throttle-body--anyone out there over 55?
Very interesting But I'm still lost from what I am hearing it's something like pouring a can of Coke down the carburator. Thanks guys, I need to know no more
32 years of owning my vett with no problems I don't think I need to pour any in.

How about a gallon of kerosene in a full tank of gas--yes I'm over 55!
Sea Foam. It's a very effective additive for fuel, oil, and intake charge. I have used it with great results.
First: Fuel
I added about half a can to a near full tank of gas. Drive normally but don't let it idle in a garage that's not ventilated. The fumes are much worse than regular exhaust. It'll clean everything from the fuel pickup, through the lines, and into the carb, cleaning it as well.
I noticed an immediate difference.
Second: Oil
I would say this should be done about 100 miles or so before an oil change. Drive normally. It'll clean deposits and sludge out of the pan, lifter valley, and oil passaged that get clogged with build up and sludge. It'll come out when you do the oil change. Also, a crankcase flush is a good idea after you use the Sea Foam in the crank case.
Third: Air Charge.
I emptied about a fourth of the can into a plastic cup, and one by one, let various different vacuum hoses suck it up in small amounts. Yes, it'll smoke and the fumes are bad if breathed for extended periods of time. I sucked it through the PCV valve, the dist. vacuum line...transmission line, headlight line...all the different vacuum lines. It'll make your RPMs jump, so go slow while it's sucking it down.
Overall, I think it's a great product but it's effectiveness will vary based on condition of the systems it's being used on.
If you maintain your engine, change the oil, filter, take care of it...yata yata, then the results will be less noticeable but if you have oil sludge of carbon built up in the carb or intake this stuff will make a difference.
I recommend it as a yearly service to your engine.
