Default carb question

hi guys, I have a 302 ci motor and I was going to put a 4 barrel carb on it in place of the two barrel thats on it now.

I have calculated that I need a 500 cfm carb, I was going to use Holly so that leaves me two options ether 465 cfm or 570 cfm street avenger both with vacum seconderies

which one should I choose, is the 570 too big?

Thanks guys

Is that a genuine Z28 302 engine? If so, that's one hot piece of iron. Chevy gave it a big cam and if I remember correctly, a Holley 780 to keep it happy at high rpm's.

A 600-650 should keep a 302 quite streetable. Less cfm than that should work fine and idle good, but could suffer at the high end.

A high school buddy had a '69 Z28...that car would turn the tires blue in any gear. I about cried when he sold it years ago for $3500!!! That was a lot of years ago, but still...that car would GO!!!
