Default rocker performance

does anyone know if we can put those fancy aluminum higher ratio rocker arms in a 454. will they fit under the valve covers??? what is the stock ratio for the rockers 1.6 or 1.7? if we go up .1 ratio will the valves hit the pistons? does anyone know without having to properly use clay and check clearances?????

Stock is 1.7. Depending on cam, springs etc you could go to 1.8's..especially on intake side to make a little more power.

I think the Comp Pro Magnums will fit under stock covers...but they are full roller steel...not aluminum. I have them on my motor and they do well. Worst case is you might have to use two gaskets or an extra thick one.

Truthfully though, with a milder cam there is no need for anything more than the stamped ones. The factory long slots worked well even with the L-88's and LS-7's.
