Default Help with U-joint strap bolt head size:PLEASE!!!!

Hello to all
Can anybody tell me what the size and type of bolts heads are on the driveshaft U joint strap(diff) and the half shaft straps for a stock 1982 vette with the FE7 suspension???
They look like 12 points or torx but different. Can I replace with a regular hex head bolt??
I had to stop pulling my diff because of it.

1/4" 12 point socket will do the trick, I've done a bunch of them.
If you have a stubborn one use a 12 point box end and tap with a small hammer.
I don't think thier is enough room for a hex head bolt, you could try a socket head like on the VW's

Default metric or standard

So it sounds like they are standard size instaed of metric like the rest of the car. Was this one of the years with standard threads but metric socket/wrench sizes??? What a pain.
I'll buy a set od 12 pts standard and metric. Thanks for the info.
