I have a 69' roadster in which the seats(not leather) are starting to look alittle worn with small tears. How much can one expect to pay to have them fixed or recovered? Any reputable places to have this done? Are there any good aftermarket seats tha bolt right in the C-3? Thanks is advance for any input.
Its probably just the seat cover that is getting old... the seat frame is ussually just fine... i would check with a local interior shop, just ask to see work that they have done, if you dont like what they have done, move on
You can reupholster your seats. It isn't an impossible job but it is fidgety. It isn't a job you can rush through. Most of the aftermarket providers offer an upholstery installation service on your seats if you order the seat covers from them. Check them out. You can also order the upholstery and farm the actual instllation out to an auto trim shop in your area.
:)
I'd replace your seat covers and the foam; and if you get in there and find frame damage, you'd better fix that before it begins to warp and tear your new leather seat covers.
Hey par69 welcome to the forum. I have a brother in law,Bruce, in Cedarburg with a 63 coupe know him? I never been there but my son goes every summer for a few weeks and tells me there aren't too many vettes your way?

My seats just started out needing new covers. Turned out both frames were rusted real bad & split welds. All bottom springs shot. Every piece of hardware was rusted fast and had to be burned out. I made springs outa chain link fence but decided not to use them.
I got new covers for $115 from Willcox, new foams too. You can do it yourself. Covers come with a good usable set of instructions.
Daily Driver......it sounds like the prior owner of your car was like mine.......a real lard butt
115 bux!! wow!! now your talking!!
do you have a URL for this willcox?? never heard of them
my drivers seat frame is CRACKED IN HALF... and im not talking about at the welds either...
its like some elephant just sat on it and used it as a trampoline!! :mad :mad
and then the fool painted it with "da krylon touch" instead of dying it...(like dying works really good too?? )
and i use the drivers seat so much that the vinyl is all torn up now and theres metal sticking out... yesterday it jabbed me in the back :conehead :conehead
im so fed up with the stupid seats that im gonna redo 1 at a time....
gonna bolt up the passenger seat in the drivers side and get ta work!!
Hi GTR, I help my snowmobile machanic diagnose a poor running 63' vette acouple of years ago. His name was Nick and it was his fathers car, don't know the last name. Most people in this area of the world are more concerned about how many coats of wax their car has than the performance aspect of the car. As a result I don't spend much with the local Corvette club. Take care.
