Absolutely gorgeous! Everytime I see an engine like that my first thought is: it's a thing of beauty - a work of art. Now I have something to work toward. Mine is a 427 as well, though not bored over, and I just took the headers, alternator, pumps, pully's and brackets off yesterday. The orange paint is crumbling now, but I can't wait to bring my 'work of art' back to life.
Thanks for the inspiration!!
Kelly
BTW - is that aluminum intake manifold polished or painted?

Thanks Kelly! I didn't expect so many positive remarks about the way the engine looks. To my eyes it's gorgeous, but what's interesting is that the appearance is basically all stock. Didn't take any real creativity on my part... GM put them into our cars just like that... orange heads, chrome lids, braided plug wires, naked aluminum intake. I agree, it's a good look.
As to your question about the intake, it's neither polished nor painted. Just bead blasted it a bit to clean it up. It just bare aluminum. Unfortunately it'll get a little "dirty" looking over time, but what can you do? It's a motor after all.
Motor on!>>>>>>>>>>>>
THUMPR cams when introduced were thought by many in the gearhead community (including myself) to be primarily "poser" cams but they are turning out to be exceptionally good performers.
