ok never owned a corvette and since i never had the money to even think about it i never learned much of them, but ive always admired them since i was a kid and thought of them as the most pure muscle cars u can get. im interested in buying this 1981 350 4 spd and i want to put the whole blower/butterfly assembly on it (excuse my lack of knowledge im no mechanic) where like, the butterfly intake thing is sticking out the hood lookin like a muscle car should look and going as fast as a muscle car shuld go (thats what i always pictured anyways) anyways basically my question is can it be done without alot of extensive "custom" work? i mean can u just bolt on a blower and the butterfly thing to the pully/carb and its as easy as 123 or what? someone walk me through how difficult it would really be if it is possible. like i said i have no mechanic experience my younger bro is a good mechanic and teaches me things here and there but i really know nothing about this. thanks

Thats a hard question to answer, Some low pressure blowers may not hurt the bottom half. I would give the company you contact the engine information and see if they recommend any that you would use.
Basically to answer your question, NO, you can't do that easily or cheap.
Your talking about a specially built motor to handle a blower. A good blower will run well over 2k just for the blower. The motor work to make it work annother $3k or more. You will need suspension mods and tranny mods to handle the power that kind of motor can produce. Ohh, and be prepared to learn a LOT or pay someone a LOT to work on it.
All that said Yes you can do it, but it requires a lot of $$
I don't know the compression ratio of an '81 but it has to be low. I'm thinking 8.5:1 maybe even lower. You could get a low pressure blower and underdrive it to keep from blowing the lower end all over the road but that defeats the purpose of having a blower motor. Like it is mentioned above all it takes is $$$. Another option is a tunnel ram. It will put the carbs high up in the air and stick out of the hood then you can put a scoop on it like you want. Same visual effect. Less money and it could be done with the '81's current motor without any lower end mods.
Money buys speed.
