Default Fuel injection on zz4?

What type of fuel injection system would be best suited for the ZZ4? Some people say that the camshaft would need to be changed. What do you think? Accel DFI, or T.P.I. w/ big mouth intake and large runners?

Thanks

I met a guy who put the Edelbrock Pro flow on his "stock" ZZ4 in a full bodied 70 Chevelle. Thought it was a great fit. From what he told me he was running 12.8-12.9's in the Qtr. So I'd say (as long as he wasn't BS'ing me) you wouldnt have to change your cam. I would like to do this swap, but it's way down the list right now.

Let me know how it goes if you do it!

Check out Street and Performance. They have good fuel injection setups for any motor.

I have had a few buddies go the fuel injection route on a small block and non of them did any kind of specific cam change. A couple went with the Edelbrock package and raved about it. One guy went with the Holley setup and did not like it. I think it would be a great way to go except when you see the carb comparisons side by side on the Dyno the fuel injection does not provide any noticiable advantage. Main reason to go that route is tunability and reliability. But for the $2,000 bucks roughly it takes to do the deal I decided against it. Let us know what you decide and how it works out. :seeya

PS I think it was super chevy mag that most recently did the carb vs fuel injection shoot out for the comparison on the Dyno

I have an 86 Vette that I installed a ZZ4 into. On the previous motor, I had a SuperRam base and plenum, and it is now on the ZZ4. I have no complaints at all. It runs well with the stock 86 chip, all that is left is to get it dyno tuned and a custom chip made to wring all there is out of it.

But, for being on the stock chip, I am very very pleased.

I'm running a TPI on a built up ZZ-4 and it runs great. Loads of power and very drivable. The only limitations I experience are the lose of power above 5000 rpms.

pats406nitrovette had the holley projection on his 73. hence the word had. Also knew another guy with a 74 with the holley setup, and had a lot of troubles with it. maybe its just the holley setup
the superram really intrigues me
