I have a 78 L-82 4 Speed and would like to keep the stock transmission but would like more overdrive gears. I am not interested in switching to the 5 speed transmissions from Keisler etc. I would be interested if anyone knows if there is a company or kit that changes the stcok gears in the T-10 four speed so that 3rd would be 1:1 and fourth could be on overdrive such as .64:1 or or less. I have 3.70 rear gears and of course could changes these to 2.73's as another option but would lose some acceleration doing that change. I just want to change the gear box ratios.
i dont know if you know of a car named Hammer that unique performance built a few years back( i think,, or maybe it was troy productions) anyways it was a 1970 gtx that had a nice procharged hemi in it with a 4 speed with overdrive, really nice car and yes id still kill anyone to get it, you might want to look into what tranny they used.

I'll check it out but I'm really looking to keep everything stock looking and just changing the Borg Warner T-10 internals. The prices for the aftermarket 5-speed transmissions are way too high. Changing the internal gears would be a fraction of the cost of the 5-speeds and ultimately achieve the same result. Many times when driving I shift from 1st to 3rd/4th or 2nd to 4th since the engine has more thaN enough power for this skipping with very high RPM as geared from the factory. I really would like to switch 3rd to a 1:1 and fourth to a steep overdrive.
