hi! can someone post a picture of the back section of the fuse box of a 76 coupe? i am changing the dash harness out and a short white wire needed to be replaced and i got one end but forgot where the end that goes into the part of the fuse assembly that mates with the engine fuse block goes.i know this makes no sense.thanks---john

thanks for the reply aktbird! yes i have several books with the wiring diagrams in them.my problem is i am not able to read them very well. i am going to take the harness to a mechanic that works on electrical systems in vettes.maybe he can identify the wire and where it plugs into the back of the fusebox. thanks---john

John, I have the wiring diags. also, call me if you don't get if figured out and maybe we both can have a look at it. Seems like I recall the wire from the block running to the door switch for the interior lights.. but don't take that as the gospel.

Tab,

my 72 harness doesn't have a pure white wire to the fuse panel. the white wire attaches to the rear harness plug at one end next to an orange wire.

Just looked at my old 76 harness that i have out. There is a white wire at the engine side towards the firewall. If it is the right one .It goes right under the center bolt hole and a litle to the right ,just above what looks like a blue w ire. Hope this helps

hey 76vette! the white wire-is it about a foot long?one end plugs into a wide clip which holds 10 wires, then plugs into the back part of the fuse box.can you look at it again to make sure this is the right one?i think it is. a pic would be great! thanks for your help!---john

is the wire on the interior side or is it on the engine compartment side? i took some pictures of the one on the interior side and it goes to the switch for the door. i looked under the hood but i have most of the wires covered and ran with the fuel injection harness that i have as well so i cant see them. i have to find my memory stick addapter so that i can upload the pictures. shouldnt take to long i just have to ask the wife what she did with it.
