Default 68 A/C condensor required

I want to get my A/C functional in my 68, and installed a Sanden compressor recently. I regassed the system and it worked, although the air velocity was pitiful. After a week I noticed it wasn't getting cold at all, and ran a UV light over all the fittings and found leaks at all the pipe bends on the condensor

I am trying to source a replacement....
I contacted Dewitts in regards to this condensor....

It's listed as suitable for 69~72 vettes.
They informed me the 68 components are all different and it will not work.
What's the difference?
Can anyone point me in the direction of where to source a 68 condensor? I am not concerned about NCRS judging or originality.... just good functionality.

I have noticed that the parts suppliers also list a POA Valve update kit.

Is it needed to get system working properly?

Once I've sourced those, I'll tackle the blower fan.

we get extremely hot weather in our summers down here (Adelaide, South Australia) last month we had 15 continuous days where temp was over 95. Even hit 104 a couple days.

I bought my 68 condenser from the Last Detail. Doc Rebuild also sells them.
The 68 a/c tubing is oriented differently than the 69 and up set-up.

I don't see why you couldn't use a 69 and later condenser and have some rubber a/c lines custom fitted to make everything work.

I'm using the original POA set-up with R12. It blows ice old.

OzzyTom

We carry the 68 only condenser, I have them instock to ship today. No need to try to make another year condenser fit.

As a side note, this is one problem with the '68. There are many parts that are just for this year.

Which just makes a 68 a 68 and not a car that is the same as last year and the same as the next year, that just sounds like a VW Bug to me! Now really all Vetts are cool and one year off parts mean nothing! These are old cars and parts get hard to get sometimes no matter what year it maybe, SO WHAT. Ok I'll shut up now just gets old hearing this line of BS about 68's

Now that I've seen the 68 condenser, it appears the unit I have is NOT a 68 original item.
As I have all my hoses and pipes and other components setup for this style condenser, I will try and surce one the same to minimise installation woes.
I am NOT concerned about NCRS originality.... my vehicle is converted to right hand drive after all.

Mine looks a lot like the 69 model condenser.
