73 motor surging
hey everyone, here is what I have been told. First, I have checked fuel pump, plugs, wires, dist., points, vacuum lines, checked for leaks in fuel lines, etc. The car has a carter AFB carb on it. Was told by the previous owner that he had a problem with the motor surging a little over a year ago. They rebuilt the "carter carb" and it ran fine. I have been told by a co-worker that Carter carbs are JUNK and that is my problem. Now, I don't mind spending the money for a Rochester, or a Holley, If that is the problem. HEY FOLKS, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I would make sure the timing is set correctly first. Use Lars paper as a guide to be sure timing is set correctly.
