68 vs 69 wiper door assembly differences
Specifically, how can you tell the difference between 68 and 69 wiper door assemblies?
Does a 68 vacuum can work on a 69 set up?
Reason i ask is I have a wiper door assembly that is either 68 or 69 and I am not sure what I got.

I've got a spare 68 assemnly if you need a picture to compare yours to.
The 68 actuator has a 1/4" rod while the 69 has a 5/16" , they do make a rod coupling so you can inner-change the 2 actuators.
Keep in mind too, that the early 69 used the 68 assembly.

Budman is correct about the squirters but you can use either squirter setup on whatever year wiper door assembly (68-72)

The 69 door assembly has an vacuum switch for the windsheild wiper door system that the 68's don't have. The 69 squirters were on the windshield arms, the 68 squirters were attached to the underside of the wiper assembly door.
The 68 and early 69, had "coffee can" vacuum actuators, and the later 69 and up cars had an actuator that looks like two little pie pans joined together. These two different style actuators attach to the firewall with different brackets. Also as said above, the actuators have different threads/rod sizes on the actuator rod that pushes/pulls the door open/shut.

The only thing I would add as a minor point is the 68 uses a micro switch tied into the wiring harness with a metal arm connecetd to the wiper door to engage it, to tell the wiper motor when the door is fully opened

I have both the 68 and 69 linkages. The only difference these old eyes could see was the 69 has 2 additional brackets (one on each side) that bolts to the cowl for additional support and the 68 has a 1/4" rod for the actuator and the 69 has a 5/16's rod. I'm using the 69 linkage on my 68.
