Default Adjustable strut rods over regular (?)

I'm replacing my right training arm and want replace both strut rods while I'm in there. I've been told to go with adjustable strut rods. Does anyone here use them? What do you think?

Thanks- John

Lots of guys here use them. Smart Struts are even better. They come with an additional bracket to lower the center point of the rods on the inboard side.

I am one of the guys.... They are great... If you do any autox or track you can adjust the rear camber very quickly.

A couple of vendors make them Van Steels are very good. I have them

I prefer heim-jointed rods with camber lock plates in lieu of eccentrics (), but then I'm probably considered a bit hardcore by a few around here. That said, I still like VB&P's bracket (available separately, #52000B?) with those vertical slots which ease camber curve tuning.

I just put them in mine recently. They were very easy to install and setting the camber is a snap. The hardest part is getting the lower shock mount out. I bought the tool from VB&P for $12.99, it worked like a charm. I soaked the mounts the night before with PB Blaster and one shot each and they were out with no damage to them. Once they were out I cleaned them up real good and used some anti-seize lube on them when I put them back in.

I too installed the VBP ones last week, like all of the above the hardest part was getting the shock mounts out. Used a wheel puller which working like a charm. It goes to the alignment shop on Friday. I ordered them from Corvette Central.

I run the regular VB poly struts, and though I've not had a problem with them, would offer this tidbit.

Before assembly you should use anti seize on the rod end threads. I recently went for a wheel alignment and found both strut rods seized. The alignment was close to what we wanted,so moving them wasn't a big deal. Next round I'll go with the spherical end units, and use anti seize for sure.

BTW these strut rods have been in service for at least ten years, and I drive the snot out of my Vette.

I have an 80 and installed the adjustables ones a year ago , and I'm real happy with them. If you ever need to adjust the camber you can do that in a few minutes. Ron

No one else has had trouble with the jam nut backing off, because I certainly did.

You have to really tighten the jam nut down. Use loctite as well.
