The picture is kinda small but it's possible that its a pill for the pressure regulator for the powersteering pump....other than that I can't figure out what it would do.

looks like it could possibly be a bleeder, but I don't see any way to grab it with a wrench.

Looks like the brass ferrule for the high pressure hose fitting to me.

Its got an O-ring in it. The AN fittings do not have o-rings.

Maybe a fitting insert for the power steering box input?

On the older hydro boost systems they used an inverted fitting and on the newer style they used the metric fitting with o-rings. I think the part you are looking at is a seat for the inverted style fitting. These were a press fit into the housing of the unit.

Some close answers, it's just the insert into the port in the back of the power steering pump, the high pressure port, that the tip of the hose end seals against. It's there for the later C3s and C4s that have a different hose end than the early C3s.
