Default Hand Made header pics...Finally! <bandwidth warning>

Some of you may be aware that I built a set of sideexit headers a few months ago ( those of you that haven't died of old age waiting :rolleyes: )

Well here they are, theyre not much to look at but they use every trick I could possibly use.
They are 1 3/4" x 34" primaries +-2" They have 3" collectors that feed into a 3" side exhaust and a 2 1/2 " crossover pipe. They also have a cone in the collector to smooth out the transition from the primaries to the collector.

You can see in one picture the foam covered spline that I used to 'prototype' the tubing routing. While it was invaluable in getting close but there was a LOT of hand fitting to get everything even fairly close...( BTW the worst tube is off about 1 3/4" )

For those of you tempted to ask me to build a set for you here's my answer, If you have a pretty wife or girlfriend to loan me for a year, enough cash to pay me for two months, and pay off my mortgage we will talk. Otherwise forgetaboutit

<edit>
BTW I used about 5lbs of welding rod and an 80 lb tank of Acyetlyne during the creation of these basket of snakes :)

Also I added the pic of the flanges and U bends that I started with...
</edit>

Here are the flanges, as made by 'Headers by ED' They are custom made to my heads:D:D.

This is what the pipe looks like when I get it

Starting out...

Added the flexible spline for prototyping

One Pipe Close

Closer

Will THIS work ( attempt 389 )

Drivers side all taped up and ready for assembly

Passengers side before collector was welded on, Note the transition cone.
The loops run right beside the starter! Gotta have a good heatshield!

Here is the 3 1/2" exhaust I use for racing, they are glass packs with 2 1/2" cores. Too loud for normal driving!

Compared to the stock Mufflers

On the car

Beautiful job on those headers.....you also have some beautiful legs sticking out the door of your car....don't forget to install heat shields over them things.....hate to see a beautiful set of legs get branded during a quick exit. :D
