Default Fuel Separator - a required part ??

Just broke one of the return line mounts on the fuel separator on my 74's gas tank. Is that a required part for the system or can I close those lines off and be done with it? That and the charcoal cannister deal are the only two parts of the car I'm not interested in re-doing since the other emission controls were removed long ago.

Thanks for your help

You'll regret not having the charcoal cannister and plumbing. Don't remove it.

Thanks, after more reading on tank venting etc. I figured I'd leave it all in place and eventually replace the canister when I get there. Ordering the separator today. $50 for that critter! Anyone found them cheaper ?

Thanks for your thoughts

I removed my charcoal canister from my 81 with no problems? I installed FI with a new supply fuel line witha full size return. What type of problems would one experience if you were to have any??

Default Drop tank or not?

Hi Porch40, I just got a new separator and new rubber lines from www.DocRebuild.com on Friday, going to change them on Monday. Did you have to drop the tank or is there enough room up there? PG.

Hi Pete, yes I dropped the tank to replace the rear bumper cover. I remember feeling around up there before bringing the tank down checking for the connected lines and finding there's not much room. I think it would be pretty tight. Thanks for the link! Will be ordering it tonight.

Thanks, I was hoping I could just squeeze in up there, but I should know by now nothing is easy on a Vette. PG.
