okay, so my dad and I just got the set on, everyone looks good clearance wise, and then when we go to put the number 3 spark plug in....****.....the header tube is in the way . Has anyone encountered this problem and gotten around it? Any help is much appreciated...as we've been working too long for something as stupid as a clearance for a spark plug of all things to stop us!!!

Jet-Hot didn't say anything about angled or straight plug heads on the phone when we ordered the headers from them! I really hope that the only way around this is not to have to dent it, but I guess that would work, just make it have a little less flow right?

I have hooker sidepipes and angle plug AFR heads on mine. Yes, the #3 is dinged in a bit for clearance, and at the steering box, but otherwise they work fine imo.
This is a smallblock motor, not sure if yours is or not.
yes, SB, but I have no issues with the steering box, but it looks like the dent will happen! And I just started her up with #3 off, and with straight pipes, and sounds like a monster!
now, I have the sterling Jet-hot coating on mine....is this going to crack when I bang on it, or will it not if I heat it up first? Or should I give it a swift kick? lol
Anyways, what's the best way to ding it withou doing a lot of damage?
I recall in my many hours of internet parts searching seeing someone i think it may have been accel, plugs that were shorter for headers. I did not read up on them oh know if they are any good, might want to do some research if you are to buy them.
How did you guys dent the headers, a hammer, heat it up with a blow torch and beng on it, or hit it with a metal shaft and a hammer....I'm really not too happy and excited to be denting them, since they're brand new......
The header plugs only make it easier to pull them on and of it seemed.....I just put a dent in one the #3 tube, and all the ceramic coating peeled and cracked off of it.....goodbye warranty!
Oh well, getting some silver header paint tommorow and patching up the areas that need it...thanks for the help guys
