Default Front Spindle Question

I've torn doen my front end and blasted and painted everything. Now I'm putting it back together. Well.... I can't see any difference between the spindles. Is there any? Does it matter if I get them mixed up?
All the other GM front ends I've done have had some sort of part number or side marking - but not these!
Thanks!

The steering attachs to one side. so it makes a difference. There are two holes for the steering to attach, close ratio and standard this should tell you which is which. The otherside is the sway bar attachment, and only has one hole.

yes it makes big difference because when you try connecting the tie rod ends they won't line up.Well the tie rod will go into the hole but then everything else will not line up.I had rebuilt my spindles and marked them right and left but set them down on same side.Without looking I grabbed one and put it on.Dang it! I had to remove it again. For instance the caliper will be upside down if have spindles on wrong side as the brake line will be facing the wrong direction.

The spindles are the same from side to side, it just matters how you put the steering arm on as said above...

And the sway bar attaches to the A-Arm, not the spindle

Yeah the above is right because the left side has to have the 2 holes.one for the rod going to pitman arm and the other hole is for the tie rod going to the right side spindle.

Thanks Guys!

The part I'm talking about doesn't have the holes for the tie rods in it. It's just the spindle and the part that holds the ball joints. All one casting. On mine, the part that holds the tie rods is bolted onto the backside of the spindle casting. I can see if you put those parts on wrong there would be a major tie rod alignment problem (I'm sure I'll have that one soon too!).
So I take it that the spindle casting itself is the same from side to side? It's the tie rod casting that is critical?

Well - I've got the suspension in and I think it looks correct!
I'll find out for sure when I put the steering in. Just waiting on some more parts. Thanks for the help!

The spindle itself is the same on both sides. The steering knuckle is the part that is side specific.

Cool - then it is absolutely correct. I wrote down all the part numbers for the drivers side so I wouldn't have this problem. But the spindles themselves do not have any number on them!
