I soaked the bushings with PB every day for about a week and then took a pry bar to it under the wheel wells. It took a little "heave ho" but it popped out.

I would suggest leaving the two bolts partially in to catch it when it breaks loose.

When you reinstall the crossmember, coat the entire bushing cup with RTV so water can't collect and rust weld it again. Just a tip.

Just a ? but why not coat them with Anti-Seize.

Antiseize will work as well, but I decided to use RTV for a tight seal. Grease would probably work in this application too.

i just did this a few weeks ago and had the same problem you do. some one suggested using a gear puller. it worked perfectly.

the arms go on the Xmember and the center point pushes on the bolts you left partially in. took me about 10 mins to get it xmember free and the diff out.

Just use the gear puller, it's the better tool for the job.
