Default Cold version of R45TS plug?

Does anyone know the equivalent to this plug in a colder heat range?

Thanks,

Jay

For future reference
R=Resistor
43,44,45 etc= heat range Higher # hotter plug
T=Tapered seat
S = Extended tip (may cause detonation)

If there is a L after the # its a long plug.

Update: I replaced the R45TS set with R43TS. So far, so good. While I was at it, I checked compression. Each one came in between 170 -175. That's good news to me, I was afraid they could be a bit too high.

Let us know how the 43's work. Thats a pretty big jump in heat range from 45 to 43. Did you try 44's?

You may wish to go back to the 45s for street use. 44s were recommended back then but were prone to fouling for everyday use. With modern fuels the 43s may be very cold unless you are on a circuit track at constant high RPMs.

The AC44 plug was standard on the older motors but it's been discontinued. A lot of books reference the AC43 as the replacement but it's typically too cold of a plug for the street, it works better if you are driving with sustained high RPMS. Regular street use tends to have the foul a lot.
i'd go back to the AC-45 or AC-R45

Appreciate the advise, but most of my driving is highway. Have not fouled out yet. Also, pinging has been greatly diminished. Still need to find non-ethanol fuel. I have a set of R44's in the garage in case I start having trouble. Again, thanks for the help.
